Testimony of the Oldest Granddaughter of Donna & Phil Michel
"I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have heard people say, “Oh, it’s just another book.” This is not true. It is not ‘just’ a book. In its pages are some of the most powerful words you will read in your life. I encourage you to read it thoughtfully, pondering and contemplating its teachings. The first time I read the Book of Mormon, I couldn’t understand many of its verses. When I prayed, though, I understood its message.
In Moroni 10:3-5 it says: "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down unto the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."
This scripture means that when we ask Heavenly Father if the scriptures are true, he will answer us through the Holy Ghost. I was answered by a warm, happy feeling. I know that that was the Spirit testifying the truth. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I also know that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know Heavenly Father loves me. And I know that this book is the truest in the world."
